This is our solid bronze Fern Fossil hook or drapery tieback/valance post. It has the irregular shape and texture of the original stone, including the imprint of the Fern Leaf. The fossil rock is cast on the end of a 2" piece of Lodgepole branch.
All of our hooks are handcrafted using solid bronze, utilizing the lost wax process to develop our pieces. As a result, they are not perfectly uniform; the shape and surface texture may vary a bit from piece to piece, and the exact size and placement of highlights may also vary.
Please Note: The Espresso patina is almost black in color and will not have many highlights due to the patina process.

Bronze will, likely, darken over time as it is exposed to the weather or from normal wear and tear. You can care for it by periodically washing with a gentle soap, applying a high-quality paste wax, and buffing with a soft cloth. You can also use compressed air to blow it clean being careful not to leave residue on the surrounding surface.
If these suggestions do not bring your item back to life, we will be happy to refinish the pieces for you for a small fee per item.
