Materials

Solid Bronze

Basic Patina: Our bronze items are cleaned, and then are oxidized black using an ageing solution before being gently buffed back to accentuate the recessed areas and texture to reveal the warm golden bronze undertones.

Traditional Patina: The same process is done as the Basic Patina. Then the piece is heated to remove any moisture and a water base dye is added to give the piece its rich reddish color. Then it is heated again to remove moisture again.

Espresso: A lightly textured surface with low sheen. They are submerged in our aging solution which oxidizes the natural bronze to an espresso tone all over.

Each piece is coated with a thin layer of wax which helps to protect the patina.

All of our knobs, pulls, and handles are handcrafted using solid bronze, utilizing the lost wax process to develop our pieces. As a result, they are not perfectly uniform; the shape and surface texture may vary a bit from piece to piece, and the exact size and placement of highlights may also vary. Each piece is provided with screws for mounting.

Care Instructions

Congratulations on your purchase of a solid bronze piece from Timber Bronze 53, LLC! We are confident that you will enjoy this item for many years to come. Bronze will, likely, darken over time as it is exposed to the weather or from normal wear and tear. You can care for it by periodically washing with a gentle soap, applying a high-quality paste wax, and buffing with a soft cloth. You can also use compressed air to blow it clean being careful not to leave residue on the surrounding surface. If these suggestions do not bring your item back to life, we will be happy to refinish the pieces for you for a small fee per item.

Bronze: Most items will take 5-6 weeks from order to shipping date because of the handcrafted nature.

We ship most US orders via USPS depending on the size and weight of the order and which items are ordered. We will ship the entire order on the same day. We prefer to ship in as few boxes as possible to conserve materials, but in the event that one or more of your items will require additional processing time, we will ship your available items as soon as possible.
